Truth, examined from a few angles.
This set opens with the idea that a story's meaning ultimately depends on the relationship between reader, writer, and character, before turning to a pointed geopolitical observation about oil and foreign intervention. For more grounded reflections, see Heart.

The joy of 'The X-files' is how it plays on so many different realities never knowing what is the truth and what is the deception. So my approach to my character has always been that we are alive and have always been alive and were never 'killed off' but held a fake funeral in 'Jump the Shark' to get the heat off of us.

We try our hardest to be original, but the truth is, in a real ER, you get similar kinds of cases over time. We try to embrace the distinctions of different characters going through similar storylines.

As an actor, I've always found that my job is not to judge the content in which I've agreed to perform in. What I try to do is just find the truth in every moment that they've written.

I can't establish the veracity of what people say because only they know whether they are telling the truth. I can't look into your mind, can I?

The ebulliently sharp mind of 'White Christmas' director Walter Bobbie made me tremble and strive in the same breath. The deceptively 'simple' dialogue of David Ives, asking every actor to just. say. it. Float it on the breeze; it doesn't need 'explanation,' just energy and truth.

You will never, I think, fully conquer the play. Every night, you see this Everest before you. It's that two, three hours and the audience, and you'd better tell the truth.

What I try to do with my career as an actor is what I've learned in the theater: I am rigorous with myself as to whether I'm telling the truth, and I try to surround myself with filmmakers and content creators who are also interested in the pursuit of the truth.
