Think Quotes
Quotes that share what people really think.
Many quotes here open with a direct 'I think,' offering personal beliefs - some lighthearted, like using comedy as a defense, others sobering, including grim predictions about where humanity is headed. A few weigh in on cryptography and the future of communication, a subject also touched on in Life Quotes.

As an actor, I think it's really important to be as anonymous as possible. It's your job to convince people that you are somebody else, and so any recognition I'd get away from the screen - well, it's not something I actively seek. To be honest with you, I'm surprised anybody does.

I think it's important to keep things private, and there are certain boundaries I feel very particular about drawing. It may seem fastidious, but my experience of talking to the press is that I need those boundaries to remain very clear.

My instincts tell me that you will spiral into a very unhealthy place if you start pondering about how other people think about you and, quite frankly, I don't want to go there.

I guess there were things about the Obamas I discovered that I do think are universal to marriage. - Opinion

The act of writing... is the act of trying to understand why my opinion is what it is. And ultimately, I think that's the same experience the reader has when they pick up one of my books.

I think the reason these readers come back to me is because I represent their points of view. It may not be my point of view, but that's OK. Everyone still deserves to have their say.

When I think about writers who use fiction as social commentary and to raise social awareness but who are also very popular, I think of Dickens.
- Confusion
- |
- Nov 07, 2020
I don't think Donald Barthelme would have minded being called a confusing writer. Confusion was a favorite subject for him in his essays and reviews, and it's enacted in his fiction in a mishmash of dizzying incongruities.

There's a point I set for myself, and it's an arbitrary point, when I think no matter happens, I'm going to finish that book. And that's when I get to page 100. I have to see it out.

I think I can be relatively attractive when I dress up, but I'm not Julia Roberts or Catherine Zeta Jones.
