Space Quotes
Space means something different at every scale.
These space quotes cover a surprising range — screenwriters complaining about crowded cafe tables, a musician resisting being boxed into one sonic style, and an old joke about the outer-space program's tax-dollar value. For more on the physical world, see our Earth quotes.

Sooner or later, The Rock's going to get tired of that empty space on his mantle where an Oscar should be, and that's when I'll get the phone call for the buddy movie that finally makes his career.

I call my tiki bar my tiki office, even though I also entertain out here all the time. This beautiful, open-air space is such a creative environment for me. It's where my writing partner and I wrote much of the script for a Mamas and Papas biopic that's in the works, and where I have my meetings.
- Energies

My energies get used up quite quickly, and the psychic space I'm in when I write is a very lonely one, so I found that harder and harder to get back to.

I'm part of the consumer culture... I'm just using the space I am given to express something that is out of the space so I'm part of the consumer system but I'm advocating stepping out. Which is a contradiction but I could be part of he consumer system and say, 'let's consume even more.'

You know what I would like to do: make a film with actors standing in empty space so that the spectator would have to imagine the background of the characters.

When man becomes reconciled to nature, when space becomes his true background, these words and concepts will have lost their meaning, and we will no longer have to use them.
- Say

I mean simply to say that I want my characters to suggest the background in themselves, even when it is not visible. I want them to be so powerfully realized that we cannot imagine them apart from their physical and social context even when we see them in empty space.

If we are able to get inside the music and inhabit it convincingly enough, it will cause everyone to find each other in this new psychological space. And that's most exciting.

When you launch in a rocket, you're not really flying that rocket. You're just sort of hanging on.

I was always fascinated by science-fiction shows, shows like 'Star Trek' and 'Lost in Space.'

Now, juggling can be a lot of fun; play with skill and play with space, play with rhythm.

I had always been interested in the space program, and I didn't know if I could be an astronaut like I'd dreamt about when I was a little kid - to me it sounded kind of silly, someone grow up to be an astronaut - but, when I was in my 20s, I thought maybe I can get a job with NASA or a contractor, do something with the space program.

I think most astronauts are not risk takers. We take calculated risks for something that we think is worthwhile.
