Health Quotes
Health is measured in more than numbers.
These quotes move between the personal and the civic - years spent caregiving for family, running as a way to protect mental health, and a bridge metaphor used to argue that a society's health depends on its weakest members, not its averages. See our Change Quotes for related ideas.

What you see is when the government gets involved, you run out of money and health care gets rationed.
- Me

I really never look at my health issues as 'Woe is me.' I've seen the reality of that. And it's not a pleasant thing.

When the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the Affordable Care Act, Sarah Palin tweeted, 'Obama lies; freedom dies.' She's referring, I guess, to the freedom to go without health care when you're sick.

Many people are worried about my mental health. But as I've said many times, we're stronger than we think we are.
- Loyalty

- Nov 07, 2020
I've been a pain in the rear for the Republican Party, and if I were to continue to be involved in the Democratic Party, I will continue to be a pain in the rear on campaign finance, health care, the environment. I'm not interested in party loyalty issues.
- Fiscal Responsibility

I think the best thing we can do is sell that idea of smaller government - of fiscal responsibility vs. the Obama record. Obama made promises, and on every promise in which he's actually delivered, things have gotten worse instead of better. He said if we get ObamaCare it'll help, but health care prices went up.

I think modern societies have to ask a very basic question: What strategies buy the most health for people? Doctors can do so many marvelous things now. They can keep a corpse alive, almost.
- Children

Modern medicine has presented us with a Faustian bargain: Our aging bodies can bankrupt our children and grandchildren. We have run into the 'law of diminishing returns' in health care, where we are often doing more and more, with higher and higher technology, at more and more cost, for less and less benefit.
