I had half my family that were farmers, and I was really pretty good at repairing farm equipment. There was certainly a period of time where I would have been happy to do that, just to be a farm equipment repairman in Dalemead, Alberta.

A really interesting and happy time was when I first went to Florence as a student and studied Italian. I was living in a pensione on an allowance of £40 a month, which was princely. I did a lot of work and enjoyed myself immensely.

We've all been around love enough to know how lucky we are. I've never seen anybody have a cross word on the set, and I'm there a lot. All the women just got brand-new trailers, so they're happy.
