I was born in New York City. But my family moved when I was still an infant. Except for a year and half when we lived in Youngstown, Ohio, I grew up in small towns in Pennsylvania. I graduated from high school in Farrell, Pennsylvania.

I lived in Tokyo for four months. I've heard Tokyo was modeled after New York City, so I was ready for the subways and all the people, but it's a little overwhelming at times. Not to mention, I'm paying twice as much for my apartment here than I was paying in L.A., and my apartment in L.A. is about four times the size! But it's such a cool city.

I am hopeful that there are three or four Harvey Milks. It would be nice to have one in California and one in New York and one in Texas and Oklahoma-it would be fantastic. Maybe even one in Salt Lake City. I would like that.
