Psalms 117 – Praise the LORD, All Ye Nations

Just two verses, the Bible's shortest chapter calls every nation to praise the LORD.

Psalms 117 – The Shortest Psalm of Praise

Coming right after the personal thanksgiving of Psalms 116, this two-verse psalm widens the call to praise, inviting 'all ye nations' and 'all ye people' to join in worship.

Praise Yahweh, all ye nations, Laud him, all ye tribes of men;

For his lovingkindness, hath prevailed over us, and, the faithfulness of Yahweh, is to times age-abiding. Praise ye Yah!

Its confidence that God's truth 'endureth for ever' echoes the singular praise of Isaiah 25:1, and its brief praise opens into the long thanksgiving of Psalms 118.
