Psalm 93 - The LORD Reigns Above the Floods
Five verses declaring God's kingship stronger than the roar of the sea.
At only five verses, Psalm 93 opens a run of kingship psalms in the Psalms overview, declaring 'the LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty' while picturing the lifted floods and waves as no match for His strength.
יהוה reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; יהוה is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.
Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.
The floods have lifted up, O יהוה, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.
יהוה on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.
Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O יהוה, for ever.
