About Prayer of Azariah
The Prayer of Azariah and the Song of the Three Holy Children is an Apocryphal addition to the Book of Daniel, included in the King James Version with Apocrypha but absent from the Hebrew text of Daniel used in most Protestant Bibles. Inserted into the narrative of the fiery furnace in Daniel 3, it preserves Azariah's prayer of confession and appeal for mercy on behalf of Israel, followed by a hymn of praise sung by the three companions as they are preserved unharmed among the flames.
