Proverbs 18
The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it.
Proverbs 18 pictures the name of the LORD as a strong tower where the righteous find safety, set against the isolation of a man who separates himself to follow his own desires. It repeatedly returns to the danger and power of speech, warning that death and life are in the power of the tongue and that answering a matter before hearing it is folly and shame. The strong-tower verse is developed further in Proverbs 18:10.
與眾寡合的，獨自尋求 心願，並惱恨 一切 真智慧。
愚昧人 不 喜愛 明哲，只 喜愛顯露 心意。
惡人 來，藐視 隨 來；羞恥到，辱罵 同到。
人 口 中的言語 如同深 水；智慧 的泉源 好像湧流 的河水。
瞻徇 惡人 的情面，偏斷 義人 的案件，都為不 善。
愚昧人 張嘴 啟 爭端，開口 招 鞭打。
愚昧人 的口 自取 敗壞；他的嘴 是他生命 的網羅。
傳舌人 的言語 如同美食， 深入 人的心 腹。
做工 懈怠的，與浪費 人 為 弟兄。
耶和華 的名 是堅固 臺；義人 奔入 便得安穩。
富足人 的財物 是他的堅 城，在他心想，猶如高 牆。
敗壞 之先，人 心 驕傲；尊榮 以前，必有謙卑。
未曾聽完 先 回答的，便是 他的 愚昧 和羞辱。
人 有疾病，心 能忍耐；心靈 憂傷，誰 能承當呢？
聰明人 的心 得 知識；智慧人 的耳 求 知識。
人 的禮物 為他 開路，引他到 高位 的人面前。
先 訴情由的，似乎有理；但鄰舍 來到，就察出實情。
掣籤 能止息 爭競，也能解散 強勝的人。
弟兄 結怨，勸他和好，比取堅固 城還難；這樣的爭競 如同堅寨 的門閂。
人 口 中所結的果子，必充滿 肚腹；他嘴 所出的，必使他飽足。
生 死 在舌頭 的權下，喜愛它的，必吃 它所結的果子。
得著 賢妻的，是得著 好處，也是蒙了 耶和華 的恩惠。
貧窮人 說 哀求的話；富足人 用威嚇 的話回答。
濫交朋友 的，自取敗壞；但有 一朋友 比弟兄 更親密。
