Jeremiah 47: A Flood From the North Sweeps the Philistines
A short, forceful oracle pictures Gaza and Ashkelon overrun before an unstoppable army.
Continuing the oracles against the nations begun in Jeremiah 46, this short chapter targets the Philistines just before Pharaoh strikes Gaza. An invading flood from the north is pictured overwhelming Tyre, Sidon, and every remaining Philistine city.
法老 攻擊 迦薩 之先，有 耶和華 論 非利士人 的話 臨 到 先知 耶利米。
耶和華 如此 說： 有水 從北方 發起，成為 漲溢的 河，要漲過 遍地 和其中所有的，並城 和其中 所住的。人 必呼喊；境內 的居民 都 必哀號。
聽見敵人壯 馬 蹄跳 的響聲 和戰車 隆隆、車輪 轟轟；為父 的手 就發軟，不 回頭 看顧 兒女。
因為 日子 將到，要毀滅 一切 非利士人，剪除 幫助 泰爾、西頓 所 剩下的人。原來 耶和華 必毀滅 非利士人，就是迦斐託 海島 餘剩的人。
迦薩 成了 光禿；平原中 所剩的 亞實基倫 歸於無有。你用刀劃身，要到 幾時呢？
耶和華的 刀劍 哪，你到 幾時 才 止息呢？你要入 鞘，安靖 不動。
耶和華 既吩咐 你 攻擊 亞實基倫 和 海 邊 之地，他已經派定你，焉能 止息呢？
