1 Timothy 2 - Paul's Call to Prayer and the One Mediator
Paul urges prayer for all people and points to Christ as the one mediator between God and man.
In 1 Timothy overview, Paul continues instructing Timothy on church order, opening this chapter with an exhortation to pray for all people, including kings and those in authority, so believers may live peaceful, godly lives. He grounds this call in God's desire that all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.
我勸 你，第一 要 為 萬 人 懇求、禱告、代求、祝謝；
為 君王 和 一切 在位的，也該如此，使 我們可以 敬虔、 端正、平安 無事地 度日。
這 是好的，在 神 我們 救主 面前 可蒙悅納。
他 願意 萬 人 得救， 明白 真道。
因為 只有一位 神，在 神 和 人中間，只有一位 中保，乃是降世為人 的基督 耶穌；
他 捨 自己 作 萬人 的贖價，到了 時候，這事必證明出來。
我 為 此 奉派 作傳道的， 作使徒，作外邦人 的師傅，教導他們 相信， 學習真道。我說 的是真話，並不是 謊言。
我願 男人 無 忿怒，無爭論（或譯：疑惑），舉起 聖潔的 手， 隨 處 禱告；
又 願女人 廉恥、 自守，以 正派 衣裳 為妝飾，不 以 編髮、 黃金、 珍珠，和 貴價的 衣裳為妝飾，
只要 有 善 行，這 才與自稱是敬 神的 女人 相宜。
女人 要 沉靜 學道， 一味地 順服。
我不 許 女人 講道，也不許 她轄管 男人，只要 沉靜。
因為 先 造 的是亞當，後 造的是夏娃，
且 不是 亞當 被引誘，乃是 女人 被引誘，陷 在罪 裡。
然而，女人若 常存 信心、 愛心，又 聖潔 自守，就必在生產 上 得救。
